The Colombia team began the concentration in Barranquilla with four players

The Colombia team will start the rally this Sunday to prepare their last two matches in these South American qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The 'Tricolor' will face Bolivia first, at the Metropolitano stadium, and then Venezuela, as a visitor, clinging to the miracle that will allow it to qualify for the World Cup, to be held between November and December.

Therefore, the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) reported that this Sunday four players will advance the first training session at the sports venue in Barranquilla, waiting for the rest of the footballers to join in the next few hours. Many of the players, who play in Europe, should travel to Colombian territory after fulfilling their commitments to their clubs this weekend.

According to the FCF statement, the first to join the orders of coach Reinaldo Rueda were: Álvaro Montero, who arrived on Saturday afternoon after finishing his match with Millonarios in the BetPlay League. While in the evening Miguel Borja arrived, who will not be available with Junior to visit Deportivo Pereira this Sunday; and Harold Preciado, who played his last match with Santos Laguna (Mexico) last Friday against Puebla.

“The last player expected today [Saturday] is Gustavo Cuéllar,” the entity specified. The 29-year-old started Friday in Al-Hilal's 4-2 win against Al-Ahli for the 25th round of the Saudi Professional League.

Let's remember that Rueda called 28 players to face the double day of qualifying. With 17 points, the 'Cafetero' team is seventh in the standings and, still winning the remaining two commitments, it must wait for the results obtained by Uruguay, Peru and Chile, which appear in the fourth, fifth and sixth boxes, respectively.

The players who surprised when they were called up were Luis Sinisterra, who has been one of the figures of the Feyenoord in Holland. Over the course of this season, he has scored 17 scores, 9 of them for the Eredivisie and 8 for the Europa Conference League (5 of them in the group stage). However, he is also good at attending, as he gave 11 goal passes to his teammates.

Since his arrival in Mexico, Harold Preciado has established himself as one of the goalscorers for Santos Laguna. In eight matches played in the Liga MX, the former Deportivo Cali striker accumulated five scores. Álvaro Montero was one of the players whose call was expected, because in Millonarios he has the least defeated fence in the Colombian League (9).

The case of James Rodriguez has also given us something to talk about, since his call was in doubt after missing Al-Rayyan's last two matches, in the Qatar League, due to physical problems.

Meanwhile, the big absentees from the roster were: Radamel Falcao, who suffered an injury to the twin that left him out of Rayo Vallecano's call in three games. However, the absence that caused the most stir is that of Juan Camilo 'Cucho' Hernandez, a striker who recently scored a double with Watford in the Premier League and who has scored three scores in the last two games.

Despite not being included in the final list, 'Cucho' assured, in dialogue with DirecTV's 'Football Total' program, that he hopes that the Colombia national team will qualify for the World Cup by hosting Bolivia (March 24) and then visiting Venezuela (March 29):

“There is a different touch, always because it is a final. I think more for them than for us. They risk their lives and well, if they risk their lives, we have to do it twice as much, I talk about us because I feel Colombian. As a Colombian, I speak like this, properly, because of course I want us to succeed and I want the National Team to qualify,” he said.
