The national leader of the Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) party, Mario Delgado Carrillo, said that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador ( AMLO) “is a real political persecutor”, this, after opposition politicians described the arrest of the mayor of Cuauhtémoc as political persecution, Sandra Cuevas, for her probable involvement in the crimes of theft and abuse of authority.
Through his Twitter account, Delgado Carrillo lamented that the National Action Party (PAN) and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) have little memory of what “political persecution represents.”
In his message, the Morenista shared a documentary called “El desafuero”, which details the process that President López Obrador went through between 2004 and 2005, with which, he trusted, the opposition “remembers” what it is like to be “a true popular leader and political persecuted”.

In another publication, the national leader of the cherry party stated that the administration of the federal president does not manufacture culprits, as was done in the past six-year periods.
And since before a judge linked Cuevas for his alleged responsibility for the crimes of theft, abuse of authority and discrimination against two auxiliary police officers of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), messages of support from members of the PAN, PRI and the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) have not stopped flood the social network.

On March 1, the national president of Sol Azteca, Jesús Zambrano Grijalva, sent his support to the mayor of Cuauhtémoc for the “persecution politics” that exist on the part of the Morena authorities.
At a press conference, the Peruvian leader demanded an end to the “political harassment” that the PRD militant is experiencing by the federal government, and reiterated the support and accompaniment of the party and the bench in the Chamber of Deputies with the mayor.
“It is clear that we are facing a scenario of political persecution, political harassment, by the head of government and the institutions of the city government against the opponents and in this specific case, against Sandra Cuevas, they cannot finish assuming that they lost the mayor's office by a majority vote last year. Sandra Cuevas won at the helm, one of the main allies of (Claudia) Sheinbaum,” he said at the time.

While on March 15, the national presidents of the Va Por México coalition, composed of the PAN, PRI and PRD, rejected the precautionary measures issued by Judge Elma Maruri Carballo against Sandra Cuevas, by temporarily suspending her from her assignment “without having previously been heard in due process”.
The leaders of the opposition alliance emphasized that this violates their human, political and citizen rights, which places them in a scenario where law enforcement agencies are used to beat political opponents.
