After a 2021 where they laid the groundwork and had to adapt to competitions by regions, Activision anticipated the circuit on the way to the 2022 World Championships. The competition will have a prize of more than two million dollars and, in addition to inviting players of all levels to participate in its events, the new year's calendar for COD Mobile esports was presented.
Starting March 31, Stage One will begin with four online qualifiers, which can be accessed within the same game. With editions held every weekend, it will end on April 24 and determine which players are eligible for Stage Two. To advance, they must complete 10 ranked games in multiplayer mode and earn a minimum of 60 points. All players who give the present will receive exclusive items within the client.
In May, the team event will begin and in June and July the circuit will take place in the regional qualifiers. Starting in August, the regional playoffs will arrive, with official broadcasts to follow all the action through YouTube. The circuit includes five zones: North America, Japan, Europe, India and Latin America.
In December, the face-to-face event will arrive with the best players in the world. Although its headquarters have not yet been revealed, it will mark a new step for the competitive COD Mobile, which did not have the possibility of holding a global competition in 2021.
Activision's Vice President of Mobile, Matt Lewis, celebrated the initiative: “With all-new rewards and a prize pool of more than $2 million, everyone is invited to enjoy this year's championships and we look forward to seeing who will be crowned victorious later this year. ”
The reach of mobile esports is growing every year and its followers surpass major titles of the most relevant titles on PC. With an undeniable impact on the industry, the arrival of the 2022 World Championship will only increase the presence of COD Mobile, with new entertainment from its best players.
