MONACO MEDIAX/SPORTEL and leading German motorsports marketing company, WIGE TV-MARKETING, have announced that WIGE will exhibit the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR at SPORTELMonaco 2010 later this month.
One of the most successful racing cars of all time, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR – known internally as "W 196 S" – was driven by such racing legends as Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss in the mid-1950s and today is valued at several Million Euros!
In 1955, the car competed in and won many important races including the Mille Miglia, the Tourist Trophy and the Targa Florio.
In making the announcement, David TOMATIS, CEO of MONACO MEDIAX/SPORTEL commented, "We are delighted to cooperate with our friends and long-time SPORTEL supporters at WIGE TV-MARKETING to display this truly unique, classic MERCEDES-BENZ racing vehicle. WIGE TV-MARKETING will sponsor the Ravel Lounge in the Grimaldi Forum where the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR will be on display during market hours.
In addition to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, WIGE TV-MARKETING will also have on display a Volkswagen Scirocco and a car of the SUPERSTARS International Series. Over the years WIGE has featured a number of world-class racing cars at SPORTELMonaco, including Mille Miglia – Alfa Romeo, Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup – Volkswagen Scirocco (2009); FIA European Truck Racing Championship – MAN Race Truck (2008); and DTM – Mercedes & Audi (2004 – 2007).
The 21st edition of SPORTELMonaco will take place October 11 – 14, 2010 at the Grimaldi Forum in the Principality of Monaco.
