McDonald's Becomes Paralympic Partner

McDonald's signed an agreement to become a national Paralympic Partner for the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games.

The deal was signed during the "100 Days to Go" ceremony on Wednesday.

Two McDonald's restaurants built for the Sochi Olympics will serve athletes in the Coastal Cluster as well as the Olympic Media Center.

McDonald's will also be able to use the Russian Paralympic Team’s logo on its merchandise through December 2016.

"McDonald's has long been known for its charitable and social projects. Our goals coincide," said Sochi 2014 CEO Dmitry Chernyshenko in a statement.

"The experience gained by the company over many years in supporting the Games will make a great contribution to the first ever Games without barriers in Russia."

Paralympics Communication Partner

Rostelecom will provide the 2014 Paralympic Games with telecommunications infrastructure.

Over 300 kilometers of optic cable will be installed ahead of the games by Rostelecom, which will connect 35 venues.

Rostelecom signed a partnership memorandum with the Paralympic Games during their "100 Days to Go" ceremony on Wednesday.

"The Paralympic Games will be held for the first time in our country and we particularly need reliable support from professionals," said Sochi 2014 CEO Dmitry Chernyshenko.

"This is why we have trusted Rostelecom, a long term partner of Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, with such an important element as communications and telecommunications."
