(ATR) Italian bobsledder Willian Frullani was kicked off the Italian team on Friday after failing a drug test. He is the second Olympian to have failed a drug test at the Games.

A statement on the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) website says Frullani tested positive for dymetylpentylamine in a test conducted on February 18. He requested a test of his backup sample which also tested positive for the banned substance.

"This has determined his exclusion from the Italian delegation," a statement said.

"The athlete was immediately dropped from the team and left the Olympic Village. CONI now needs to sort out the composition of the bobsleigh team which Frullani was part of, to make it back up to 4.

CONI has requested that reserve sledder Samuele Romanini fill the now empty roster spot.
