ASOIF Responds to Statements by SportAccord Leadership

The Council of ASOIF met today in Sochi and reviewed the statements and report of the SportAccord leadership to its Annual General Assembly yesterday.

The Council of ASOIF met today in Sochi and reviewed the statements and report of the SportAccordleadership to its Annual General Assembly yesterday and considers the position taken not compatiblewith the role and mission of ASOIF as a major stakeholder of the Olympic Movement.

ASOIF Council unanimously decided to suspend ASOIF's association with SportAccord with immediateeffect pending a full review and formal clarification of the following points:

1. SportAccord mission

2. SportAccord activities (SportAccord Convention, multi-sport games events and IF services etc)

3. SportAccord governance and management (including its constitution, participation ofstakeholders and levels of consultation)

The ASOIF Council will put the matter before the ASOIF General Assembly which will be held tomorrow.

ASOIF Council also takes note of and expresses its respect for any decision taken individually by its

member International Federations in relation to their status regarding membership of SportAccord.
