International cricket fans still have the chance to be a part of this summer's much-anticipated ICC Champions Trophy in England and Wales – as 34,000 tickets for all 15 matches are set to go on sale at 12pm BST on Wednesday (5/4).

Fans who entered the ballot last September, but were unsuccessful in their application, have access to a priority window 24-hours ahead of general sale, to ensure as many new fans as possible have the opportunity to purchase tickets and attend this summer’s event.

Demand for the 50 over event, which starts with hosts England against Bangladesh at The Oval on 1 June, has already surpassed sales at this point in 2013. The tickets for all matches – including popular fixtures India v Pakistan, England v Australia and the Final - will be released on general sale to eager fans at 12pm BST on Wednesday (5/4) following handbacks from tournament stakeholders that includes sponsors, ICC family and travel providers. Any remaining tickets will then go on sale in early May.

Fans also have the opportunity to sell any tickets they have purchased and no longer require through the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 resale service. So far, over 1,000 tickets have been posted on the website and will be available for other fans to buy. It is a safe and secure process which ensures that tickets are sold at face value to fellow fans.

The key dates for cricket fans' calendars are:

Wednesday 5 April: Around 34,000 tickets (including those selected for resale) available to buy via www.icc-cricket.com/tickets

Early May: Any remaining tickets from tournament stakeholders put on sale via www.icc-cricket.com/tickets

Steve Elworthy, Tournament Director, said: "Our preparations are now well underway for this summer’s tournament. There will be some spectacular matches - just as there were in 2013 - and every sport fan will want to be there to feel the atmosphere and see the action first hand."

"Demand for tickets has been huge and we recognise that there are many fans still keen to purchase. That is why we are putting around 34,000 tickets on sale as soon as possible to allow fans to plan their summer of cricket and why we want to reward those fans who took the time to apply last autumn yet weren’t successful, with access to an initial 34,000 tickets.

"We urge fans to only buy tickets from authorised ticket sites, which is why we are providing a resale service via www.icc-cricket.com/tickets. It will allow spectators to sell any unwanted tickets at face value to fellow fans in a safe and secure way. This is the only way you guarantee a ticket and avoid disappointment."

Additional tickets have been made available for the five matches at Edgbaston due to a temporary stand that will be installed ahead of the tournament. The extra 800 seats will boost the capacity of the UK’s biggest cricket venue outside of London to help meet the high demand for matches.

Following the highly successful application and ballot process in September - when 417,000 people applied for tickets across 60 countries - tickets for the remaining games which had unsold seats have been on general sale with the final allocations now in the process of being released.
