More than 150 officials of the National Water Commission (Conagua) have been removed from their charges for alleged acts of corruption, since June 2021.

This was stated this Thursday by Germán Martínez Santoyo, director of Conagua, during his appearance with the Water Resources Commission of the Senate of the Republic.

He explained that the acts of corruption that were detected with these officials have to do with the fact that they delivered a greater volume of water for lower payment, as well as in the Conagua bidding processes.

Faced with questions from opposition senators, he stated that in order to prevent corruption practices, since he arrived at the agency, a double control has been established in the bidding processes, procedures with anti-corruption locks are monitored in real time and work is being done on a Measurement Standard for users to declare the actual volume used.
