Presidential candidate Rodolfo Hernández does not miss an opportunity to question one of his strongest political contenders, according to the latest polls, former mayor of Medellín, Federico 'Fico' Gutiérrez.
This time, during an interview with comedian Alejandro Riaño, who plays his character Juanpis González, the former mayor of Bucaramanga vehemently questioned the contender for the Team for Colombia.
In one of his responses, Hernández criticized the sectors of traditional Colombian politics and assured that if Gutiérrez wins the presidency, he will supposedly represent the same thing as the current head of state, Iván Duque Márquez.
“What has' Fico 'worked? He's a bum,” said the candidate. While he was throwing any of his answers, several of his fans celebrated him with applause and, of course, when he lashed out at Fico it was no exception.
Moreover, in another part of the response, the former president referred to a possible government of presidential candidate Gustavo Petro and said that the followers of Federico Gutiérrez want to sow fear in citizens so that he will win.
Moreover, Hernández also expressed his opinion on other politicians in the country such as former President César Gaviria, director of the Liberal Party, whom the former mayor of Bucaramanga vehemently questioned and blamed for causing an agricultural deficit in the country. “Politicians like César Gaviria, with his minister Rudolf Hommes, ended the camp and now they are presenting themselves as the great saviors of Colombia and are negotiating with whoever they stay to get quotas of power,” he said.
It's not the first time Hernandez has questioned Gutierrez. A few days ago he made serious remarks about the tragedy of the Space building, which collapsed in Medellin in October 2013, and left 12 people dead. Hernández told Fico' Gutiérrez to participate in one of the most controversial works in the country.
It was in a dialogue with the news program Red Más Noticias, that the former mayor of Bucaramanga vehemently referred to Fico, whom he not only criticized for his work past, but questioned for allegedly working in the building that left hundreds of Medellin residents homeless several years ago.
“When did you see Federico Gutierrez working? He's always been a public employee. He worked a little with (the construction company) CDO, when his father put him in,” said Hernández, referring to the company Álvaro Villegas Moreno, in charge of the work on Antioquia soil.
In that aside he did not miss an opportunity to launch the very serious accusation against the candidate of the Team for Colombia, who is also a civil engineer like the former president from Santander.
And his criticism didn't stop there. The contender for his Anti-Corruption Rulers League movement pointed out to Gutiérrez of being responsible for the collapse of the building. “-Gutiérrez- did not realize that the amounts of iron that were being placed in the structure were below the norms,” the applicant told Red Más.
The fight between Fico and Hernandez has been going on since mid-2021 when they met in a presidential debate. However, although the former mayor of Medellín has tried not to stop balls from his current electoral counterpart, the former Bumanguese president has not stopped sending him criticism.
