After a meeting held on Sunday night, the management of América Mineiro, the rival team on the third and fourth dates of the Copa Libertadores del Deportes Tolima, and coach Marquinhos Santos concluded to end the cycle of work at the club. Despite the fact that the coach held the press conference after the Brazilian's 1-0 defeat against Avaí at Estádio da Ressacada on the first date, but, upon arrival at the hotel, the technical committee and management met and decided to advance the end of the contract.

America thanked the professional and his assistant Edison Borges, who made history at América Mineiro with the best position in Serie A in all the editions in which they participated and the unprecedented presence at Libertadores 2022. This year, the coach led the team to the group stage of the continental competition after advancing from Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the continental tournament.

América Mineiro quickly took up the task to finalize the arrival of its new coach, so he chose to bring an old acquaintance from the house, Vagner Mancini. The coach was on the Brazilian team for 21 games last season and contributed to his stay in the Brazilian Serie A.

After a six-month hiatus, America and Mancini agreed to return the coach, who helped build the base of the current group, where Colombians Juan Pablo Ramírez and Orlando Berrio play. The Club started Serie A del Brasileiro, is in the Libertadores group stage and has its debut in the Copa do Brasil next week against Centro Sportivo Alagoano.

Independiente del Valle will aim to take the lead in Group D of the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday at the expense of Deportes Tolima, in Colombia, which will be urged by victory, following the recent home defeat to Atlético Mineiro, from Brazil.

On the first round of Group D, the Ecuadorian team won by 0-2 away from Brazil's América Mineiro, who entered the group stage after eliminating Guaraní, from Paraguay, and Barcelona, from Ecuador, in the pre-stages of the continental tournament. Meanwhile, Tolima succumbed 1-3 at home in their debut against Atlético Mineiro, so they will come out with the urgency of recovering, as a second defeat would compromise their aspirations to reach the round of 16.

In the local tournament, Independiente del Valle has an irregular campaign, with 11 points, 8 less than the leader, Barcelona, and on the recent date they tied without goals with one of the last in the standings table, Guayaquil City.

The team has the same squad that won last year's title in Ecuador under the technical direction of Portuguese Renato Paiva, but still failed to achieve football harmony, although it had an auspicious debut in the current Libertadores.

The match will be played tomorrow, Wednesday, from 8:00 in the evening, at the Banco Guayaquil Stadium, owned by Independiente del Valle, with the arbitration of Peruvian Kevin Ortega.
