Javier Lozano called not to vote in AMLO's Mandate Revocation: “Don't fall into the trap, respect yourselves”

The controversial activist of the National Action Party (PAN), Javier Lozano Alarcón, lashed out against President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) for continuing to promote the consultation of Revocation of Mandate, to be held next April 10, so he asked citizens not to participate.

Through his official Twitter account, the former head of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (STPS) asked Mexicans not to fall into the “trap” of the consultation, since the federal president must end his six-year term, “with everything he is destroying”, and go live on his ranch.

Alongside the tweet, the panista shared a video in which he calls on citizens not to stay at home on Sunday and go out, but “don't go to vote either” for the Mandate Revocation.

In the audiovisual, the Mexican politician recalled that consultation is a democratic exercise provided for in article 35 of the Political Constitution, so that when citizens, not less than 3% of the electoral roll, are dissatisfied with the president, they request the National Electoral Institute (INE) to consult. He indicated that if 40% of that electorate goes to the polls, the consultation would have relevant effects.

Lozano Alarcón assured that Mexicans have already realized that “all this” is an exercise in propaganda “to engage their image.”

Don't fall into the trap, please don't do it, respect yourselves. May the Lord finish his full term, with everything he is destroying, and let him go to his ranch,” he concluded.

In compliance with the provisions of the Federal Law on the Revocation of Mandate, the General Council of the National Electoral Institute determined that as of Thursday, April 7, the radio and television broadcasting of the democratic exercise will end, and will continue with the publication by all social media of the information necessary to ensure the exercise of the right to participate.

In session, the presiding councillor of the electoral body, Lorenzo Córdova, regretted that the bill had to be approved, but “the law will be complied with even if the law does not make sense” which establishes a series of prohibitions. “Which is absurd, because for three days an exercise of citizen participation will not be promoted,” he added.

Córdova said he trusted that this determination will be a “hasty legislative work and not a trap for the electoral authority, preventing it from promoting it and then publicly demanding it, as we have been seeing, in a fallacious, lying and so systematic way that I cannot think that it is even malicious, that this Institute is not promoting the exercise”.

The councillor celebrated the discussion, since, he assured, it serves to clarify to the public that the INE will not be able to promote the Revocation these days because it was decided by the legislators. “Whoever says that the Institute is not promoting, is lying,” and mentioned that so far, more than a million spots have been broadcast on radio and television.
