Vicente Fernández continues to be a trend despite his sensitive death in 2021. On this occasion, El Rey was part of one of the most nostalgic and respectful moments that the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences makes in every edition of the Grammys to honor all those singers, composers, producers, designers, technical team and others who have lost their lives but their legacy continues.

During the In Memoriam the photography of El Charro de Huentitán appeared as a tribute of respect to the Mexican singer of ranchera music, who was not only recognized in Mexico, but worldwide and that is why the Academy contemplated him to be there. In just 2 seconds, his face provoked a whole wave of screams and whistles from the audience, who, seeing the performer of Un Millón de Primaveras, did not hesitate to celebrate his musical legacy despite how nostalgic it can be to see an idol in this section of the awards.

In social networks, that moment has become one of the most viral things, because despite the brevity of its appearance, the feeling of identification between the Mexican and the Spanish-speaking public has now unleashed a wave of positive comments where the celebration of seeing a Mexican triumph, even after his death, is a reason worthy of be shared with brief snapshots of the moment and even the small seconds of the broadcast.

“Our charro will forever be in the hearts of all Mexicans, so seeing him there if it breaks our hearts but gives us great pride.” “Nobody likes to see their favorite singers in this section but what a pride that after death our Vicente is still present.” “The heart always hurts with Fernández's death but what a pride to see him, I'm not even Mexican but we grew up here in Colombia with his music.” “There are things you don't understand until suddenly the man I grew up with in both movies and music comes out in In Memoriam at the Grammys and you realize that life has happened,” Twitter users said.

Just a week ago, during the 2022 Oscar ceremony - which continues to be talked about by the slap of Will Smith and Chris Rock - the Academy of Arts and Sciences Cinematographas paid an on-screen tribute to Mexicans Carmelita Salinas and Felipe Cazals, both of whom died in 2021, causing a similar moment on television and social networks as happened with Fernández during the 2022 Grammys.

Vicente Fernández also won the first posthumous prize of his career and could not be another investiture like the international Grammy Grand Prize, thanks to his most recent and last recording in the studio titled A Mis 80′s.

The album, beyond what it could about a gift from the Grammy judges to his memory, contains among its songs a lot of stories, characters, feelings and achievements that over 55 years of career we have positioned him as El Rey of the Mexican regional song.

During the non-televised event prior to the 2022 Grammy Awards, a disconcerting event occurred that netizens, especially Mexicans, did not overlook: country music singer Jimmie Allen, who presented the winner for Best Mexican Regional Album, said after announcing Vicente Fernández as a winner that he could not attend to the award ceremony in Las Vegas, and the famous C harro de Huentitán passed away on December 12, 2021.
