The million that cost the Marbelle concert in Villavicencio that was a failure of the public

In recent days, Marbelle has been a trend on social media, but not precisely because of her music, but because of political issues. The Colombian artist has generated discomfort in some sectors of public opinion as a result of her statements against Francia Márquez, Gustavo Petro's vice-presidential formula, in which she claims not to feel identified with her.

The controversy was sparked by a post by Marbelle on her Twitter account, in which she compared Marquez to the fictional character, 'King Kong'. The incident upset several users, who called the Colombian singer “racist”, and even this caused the senator, Roy Barreras, to sue her before the Prosecutor's Office “for violating the anti-racism law and the penal code by insulting and insulting our candidate.”

The truth is that, in the midst of the media moments, the performer of Necklace of Fine Pearls confirmed some dates in the country, including the ExpoMalocas Fair in Villavicencio. At this event, held last weekend, a video began to be released showing how little attendance the concert had.

In the audiovisual you can see how only a small group of people attend the presentation of Marbelle, who can only be seen on the big screens.

The annoyance of users grew after the media 'Agenda Hoy' announced how much the Marbelle presentation cost in Villavicencio. As they explain, the Meta Tourism Institute allocated 115 million pesos, a value that also includes the services of drums, bass, trumpet and saxophone.

One particular aspect is that, in less than five months, the costs of hiring the Colombian artist and her band rose considerably. The regional portal released the quote that was made for it to be present at the Joropo International Tournament 2021, in November. The amount paid was 80 million pesos, 35 million more compared to the show at the ExpoMalocas Fair.

The investigation explained that, on both occasions, the recruitment process was carried out through the Corporation for Social, Cultural and Sports Development (Corpodesport), represented by Ligia Patricia Lozada Leiva.

According to the media, in the Joropo Tournament, a direct contract worth 461 million was awarded for the participation of several artists, including Marbelle. Likewise, at the recent event in the capital of Meta, a contract for 710 million was received to sign several artists, including the 42-year-old singer.

In days prior to the event, some citizens asked the Government of Meta to cancel the presentation of Marbelle, however, it went ahead. “On the powder that has raised the presentation of #Marbelle tomorrow in #Villavicencio, I think that with public money respect for differences should be promoted. Governor, the concert must be canceled! ”, commented one of the netizens.

Similarly, other sectors on the Internet invited people not to participate in the event: “She is already hired and no way, the best protest is not to go to that concert”, one of the trills read.

It should be remembered that the concert that Marbelle had scheduled, for May 7 in Pasto (Nariño), was canceled for “reasons of force majeure”. This was confirmed by the firm Capitalísima, in charge of organizing the event, on March 30 through a statement.

Although the bank did not provide further details, it clarified that all the money will be returned to the people who purchased their tickets through the Alltickets platform.
