After the commercial, cultural and artistic failure caused by the recent cancellation of the Jamming Festival, which took place last Friday, March 18, many of the bands that were already confirmed to perform in Ibagué and that were in the country, were left in a limbo that, despite the reasons for returning, wanted to be in Colombia and manage at least one presentation.

This was the case of the Argentinian band Los Caligaris, who were ready and even had the time to play in the musical capital of Colombia, but after that event cancellation, they decided to organize a concert in record time and, to the surprise of many, the group announced a major event in Bogotá: Media Torta would be the point of meeting and, on the day, this Sunday, March 20.

The value of the ticket? None: access was free. The news spread like a snowball not only on Twitter, where Argentines unveiled their new presentation, but it became a 'voice to voice' that generated, this Sunday morning, endless lines to access the event. At 11 in the morning the concert 'Caligaris and friends' began, which also featured Fidel Nadal, from Argentina; the French geggae band, Dub Inc; and the Italians from Mellow Mood.

“With the motivation to bring joy to the public in the midst of this disaster and to promote spaces for meetings, where music is a bridge to coexistence, we cannot sit idly by,” said the Argentine group in a video posted on its Instagram profile, later delivering the announcement that filled many with joy capitalinos.

Responding to the demand of many people who send us their love and thanks to their unconditional love, is that we started quickly, this event that we know implies responsibility, speed and effectiveness”; they also added that they were expecting massive attendance. Indeed, the capital's public responded in the best way.

The Media Torta fell short for the tens of thousands of fans who searched for a space in that place, and the narrowness did not matter when the Argentines jumped to the stage in an event that was grateful for themselves and even by Mayor Claudia López, who highlighted the behavior of the attendees, stating that “Bogotá and her public never fail!”

Full in the half cake of the Jamming Festival artists who very generously decided to come to Bogotá and offer their show at no cost,” said the president through her Twitter account, thanking the artists and the Instituto Distrital de las Artes -Idartes- for managing it in record time.

Also, from Martín Pampiglione to Agustín Cuadrado, shared videos of the presentation on their Twitter profiles, thanking the reception of thousands of people from Bogota.

“Thank you Colombia. I love them much more”, wrote the vocalist, while the trumpeter wrote a more emotional trill “Today was a great day. I feel like we did good. I can go to sleep peacefully.”

“Despite everything, today the miracle was done and we played here in the Media Torta,” the artists said in another video posted on Instagram. After the concert, they posted a new post where all the attendees appear chanting 'Saber perder', one of the band's emblematic hits.

“Thank you Bogotá, thank you Colombia,” they wrote in the description of the post.
