Sometimes Juana Emilia, sometimes San Juana. This woman, known in the world of drug trafficking as “Juana”, was one of the hit men of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
His area of operation focused on Guanajuato, where he tortured and horrified his rivals. On January 24 of this year, she was arrested by the Armed Forces at a home in the community of Santa Ana Pacueco, where elements of the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM), of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), secured 13 magazines for firearms, a revolver, 50 cartridges, numerary, eight telephones cell phones, a charger holder and two vehicles.
But the process link would come almost two months later. This Friday, the Attorney General's Office announced the measure against San Juana, who has been held responsible for operations with resources of illicit origin, as well as possession of firearms, cartridges and magazines for firearms for the exclusive use of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
San Juana is one more on the list of detained hit women of the CJNG. In 2019, Esperanza 'N' was arrested in Mexico City for shooting Israelis Binyamin Yeshurón Sutchi and Alon Azulay in a restaurant in Plaza Artz Pedregal.
The woman confessed to being a hit woman hired by the CJNG. In addition, messages from the organization had appeared on the cell phones of the Israelis, who had attempted to defraud the criminal organization.
That same year, the FGR apprehended Maine de la Cruz Rojas, former beauty queen who won the Miss Bikini contest organized by the Caliente casinos. She was arrested in San Luis Potosí with Edgar Herrera Pardo, alias the Cayman.
According to the authorities, both had close ties with Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes el Mencho, head of the criminal organization.
The young woman was identified as the bride of the Cayman, noted for being the head of the cartel in Tijuana.
But in addition to hit women and girlfriends of chiefs of plazas, the United States Department of the Treasury has signed eight women accused of laundering money for the CJNG.
The first are the González Valencia sisters, belonging to the family led by Los Cunis, the financial arm of the CJNG: Rosalinda (or Rosalia), Mencho's wife (currently detained), Naomi, Berenice, Marisa Ivette, María Elena, Érika and Abigail; as well as their average sister Estela Valencia Farías.
According to the US government, their role goes beyond the financial area, since they would also be related to drug trafficking.
Rosalinda, mentioned as the Chief, was arrested on May 27, 2018, accused of being the administrator of the cartel and released on September 6 due to lack of evidence. However, on November 15, she was reapprehended in Zapopan, Jalisco.
Jessica Johana Oseguera González, daughter of el Mencho, also acts as the operator of the criminal group, which is why she was sentenced to 36 months in prison in the United States.
