Ricardo Monreal insisted that he will be the presidential candidate in 2024 elections: “I will fight with law in hand”

The coordinator of the Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) party in the Senate of the Republic, Ricardo Monreal Ávila, assured, once again, that his name will be on the ballots of the 2024 presidential elections, this, despite the attacks he has received from militants of the cherry party, who seek his expulsion from the political institute.

In an interview with Joaquín López-Dóriga for Radio Formula, the also president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) in the Senate declared that he will not decline the candidacy, because despite the internal conflicts in Morena over the presidential succession, their aspiration is “legitimate”.

The Morenista assured that if in the next few days he decides to leave the game, his political enemies will stop the attacks and insults, however, he stressed that he will not abandon the contest and will fight with “the law in his hand”.

In the interview, Monreal Ávila detailed that once the call to elect Morena's candidate opens, he will register “according to her”.

His statements come after six federal deputies from Morena accused him of defending the interests of Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) and the National Action Party (PAN), calling for his expulsion from the political institute.

On March 16, the Morenistas denounced that Monreal Ávila has also dedicated himself to “attacking” for no reason the governor of the state of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García, as they pointed out that with him, the state has one of the best politicians in charge of the local executive.

Faced with this, the president of Jucopo ironized that it is a “bell of pride” to be attacked by characters who have been accused of corruption, as well as human rights violators.

“As President López Obrador says, for me it is 'a stamp of proud' that corrupt people and human rights violators attack me, it is a sign that we are walking,” he said in an interview with the media.

He also recommended “doing their job well” and defending the citizens of the state of Veracruz, since, he regretted, people are currently suffering and suffering in all social aspects.

“I pay my respects to you and I hope you do your job well and defend the people of Veracruz who suffer and suffer, but I tend where they come from, I have no concern.”

He also said that, just as they are currently on him, he wants the deputies to also denounce the “arbitrariness” that occurs in the entity, because there is no separation of powers since Cuitláhuac García took office as governor.

Finally, the senator recalled that all his life, especially in the political sphere, he has had to face adversity, so he will continue to fight for the causes in which he believes and militates.
