Writing Sports, 18 Mar The Philadelphia Phillies continued to strengthen their offensive lineup ahead of the 2022 Major League season and on Friday night they have reached an agreement with outfielder Nick Castellanos. The agreement with Castellano is for five years and $100 million dollars, according to MLB.COM. Castellanos is coming off his best season in terms of power, hitting 34 home runs in 138 games for the Cincinnati Reds. The powerful fielder and right bat, also towed 100 laps, while accumulating the best batting average of his career, with .309, before declaring himself a free agent, leaving two years of guaranteed contract with the Reds, which would bring him $34 million. Castellanos will join a lineup that already had Bryce Harper and that in this free agency also added designated batsman and fielder Kyle Schwarber. The outfielder, who will now defend the grounds for the Phillies, will once again be under the reins of Dave Dombrowski, who is president of baseball operations for the Philadelphia team and for whom he previously played for the Detroit Tigers.
