After a year blank for multiple allegations of sexual assault, Houston Texans' quarterback 'star Deshaun Watson announced his signing to the Cleveland Browns on Friday.

After the transfer, which could provide Watson with a $230 million contract, the American Football League (NFL) quickly stated that it will not impact its investigation into the allegations against the quarterback.

On Friday, the Browns and Texans were closing details of a transfer whereby Houston will receive three first-round draft elections, plus a third and a fourth, according to coincident reports from ESPN and NFL Network.

Watson, who at age 26 is one of the rising stars in the NFL, would reportedly receive a five-year contract for $230 million guaranteed.

Although neither the Texans nor the Browns have officially confirmed the operation, Watson posted a message on Instagram announcing the imminent transfer.

“Cleveland let's go! Ready to work!” , Watson wrote in a message illustrated with a montage in which he appears in the Browns uniform.

The announcement comes just a week after the Texas District Attorney announced that the player will not face criminal prosecution because of the flood of complaints against him.

More than 20 women have accused Watson of sexual misconduct and sexual assault during the massage treatments he received, allegations that the player denies.

Although he will not face criminal charges, Watson still has a number of civil lawsuits ahead of him.

The player's return to the courts is also surrounded by uncertainty by the investigation that the NFL opened to determine whether he violated the league's personal conduct policy.

Any transaction that may occur “would have no effect on the ongoing and thorough NFL investigation into the serious allegations against Deshaun Watson,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement Friday.

The transfer continues a boiling transfer market in which figures like Russell Wilson (from Seattle to Denver) have been transferred, while the legendary Tom Brady reversed his retirement to play another season for Tampa Bay at the age of 44.
