Madrid, 17 Mar The venerable Def Leppard announced that on May 27 they will release a new studio album entitled “Diamond Star Halos”, the first in 7 years, which can be enjoyed on digital platforms the first preview, the song “Kick”. Universal Music has advanced this information and that the new album of those who were the leading band of the British “heavy metal” will feature special participation in two of the 15 songs by singer and violinist Alison Krauss, who is - after Beyoncé - the woman with the most Grammys to her credit, 27 in total. After “Def Leppard” (2015), “Diamond Star Halos” will be the twelfth album by this group consisting of Joe Elliott (vocals), Rick Savage (bass), Rick Allen (drums), Phil Collen (guitar) and Vivian Campbell (guitar) and will be released in various formats, including digital, as well as a luxury physical edition and a double-LP vinyl. According to the press release, it was recorded simultaneously by its members in three different countries (Elliott in Ireland, Savage in England and the rest in the United States), without a calendar or pressure, in search of “a mixture of classical spirit and power” and with nods to its early collective influences, such as David Bowie and T. Rex. Along with the announcement of the launch, Def Leppard also revealed that there will be a world stadium tour in 36 cities in the US and Canada accompanied by Mötley Crue and joined as special guests by Poison and Joan Jett. Since the group's founding in 1977 in Sheffield (UK), the group has stood out for its melodic hard rock and they are considered together with other veterans such as Iron Maiden as drivers of the so-called “new wave” of British “heavy metal”. With more than 100 million copies sold, eleven studio albums mark his discography, from “On Through The Night” (1980) to the aforementioned “Def Leppard” (2015), with special mention to works such as “Pyromania” (1983) and “Hysteria” (1987), which included his greatest popular hit to date, the song “Pour Some Sugar On Me”.
