Mario Delgado asked citizens to promote the Revocation of Mandate: “The people rule”

The leader of Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena) pointed out that some members of the INE “do not like to live in democracy”, a situation for which they have boycotted the citizens' organization that has promoted the popular consultation

The leader of the Morena National Regeneration Movement (Morena), Mario Delgado Carrillo, once again attacked the councillors of the National Electoral Institute (INE) after Lorenzo Cordova Vianello announced on March 13 that more than 80 complaints have been filed against political actors for his alleged promotion of the Mandate Revocation process despite the electoral ban.

Given this, Delgado Carrillo invited citizens to promote the consultation and assured that some members of the electoral authority “do not like to live in democracy.” Through a video, the party leader said that the INE has dedicated itself to attacking and boycotting the citizen organization that promotes the citizen consultation to which President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) will submit.

“Deep down they don't want people to know, they don't like to live in democracy. They don't believe that the people are capable of organizing, but we are going to show these factiosos and the conservatives that in Mexico of the Fourth Transformation the people rule,” said the 49-year-old Morenovista.

He also recalled that the directors of the INE themselves doubted that the 2.8 million signatures requested by the law could be gathered to carry out the democratic exercise in which it will be decided whether Tabasqueño will continue to lead the federal executive. “However, people organized themselves and collected more than 12 million signatures,” said the Morenista.

Another aspect that Delgado Carrillo denounced was the “contradictions” that these counselors have in their actions, since while they describe the organization of citizenship as violations of the law and the electoral ban, they themselves violate the Constitution by persecuting those who have expressed their support for the government of the so-called “Fourth Transformation”.

In this way, it invited citizens to continue exercising their right to participate in the Mandate Revocation consultation without being “intimidated” by INE directors. “Now they are also suspicious about this activism of the people in favor of this democratic exercise, but don't let yourself be intimidated (...) you can put a sticker on your car, a tarp at home, at work; broadcast on social networks, paint a fence or even put on a spectacular one”, concluded the party leader.

On March 11, the INE Complaints and Complaints Commission declared the precautionary measures requested to be appropriate, through 26 complaints against Morena, the civil association That follows Democracy and whoever is “responsible”, for the placement of propaganda on spectacular, tarpaulins, fences and adhered to poles, in 19 entities of the Mexican Republic.

This is after various citizens and the opposition fractions of the National Action Party (PAN), the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) pointed out that the content of the propaganda could unduly influence López Obrador during the citizen consultation.

Given this, the INE pointed out that although citizens are completely free to express their position on the Mandate Revocation process and publicly make their different positions known, this must be free from interference, public funding and partisan or governmental interventions.

However, the collegiate court concluded that the propaganda denounced could not be considered as genuinely citizen, but that it may be a possible simulation in the form of a strategy at the national level outside the right of citizenship to participate in this exercise.
