On Friday, Cagliari and Salernitana were held to a 1-1 draw at Unipol Domus. Cagliari arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Sassuolo in their previous game. Salernitana, on the other hand, were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Sampdoria. As the table looks today, both teams are on 7 points and occupy 19th and 20th places respectively after 14 matches.

After a goalless first half, Cagliari fought back the second half, thanks to Leonardo Pavoletti finding the net in the 73rd minute. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Federico Bonazzoli equalised for Salernitana just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Cagliari, Kevin Strootman, Leonardo Pavoletti, Babis Lykogiannis and Alessandro Deiola, came on for Alberto Grassi, Dalbert, Raoul Bellanova and Keita Balde. Salernitana brought on Nadir Zortea, Simy, Edoardo Vergani, Wajdi Kechrida and Leonardo Capezzi, to replace Cedric Gondo, Milan Djuric, Luca Ranieri, Joel Obi and Francesco Di Tacchio.

There were bookings for Alberto Grassi, Dalbert and Leonardo Pavoletti from Cagliari, and Frederic Veseli, for Salernitana.

Cagliari will play their next fixture away against Hellas Verona, while Salernitana will face Juventus at home.
