The first eleven athletes booked the ticket to Wroclaw

Athletes, officials and delegates from 102 countries participated in the IFMA Royal World Cup. It was the first qualifying event for The World Games 2017 to be held in Wroclaw, Poland. After 10 days of competition and nearly 1,000 fights the first eleven athletes booked their ticket for TWG 2017. The International Muaythai Federation (IFMA) announced the following names:

MALE

1. 54 Kg - Thachtana Loungphon - Thailand

2. 57 Kg - Vewart Comta - Thailand

3. 63.5 Kg Itay Guyer - Israel

4. 67 Kg - Magomed Zaynukov - Russia

5. 71 Kg - Andrei Kulebin - Belarus

6. 75 Kg - Olivier Ngoto - France

7. 81 Kg - Valent Dzmitry - Belarus

8. 91 Kg - Artem Vakhitov - Russia

FEMALE

1. 51 Kg - Parita Padpho - Thailand

2. 54 Kg - Sofia Olofsson - Sweden

3. 60 Kg - Valentina Shevchenko - Peru

The gold medalists in the different weight classes at the 2015 Royal World Cup were nominated by IFMA for the 10th edition or The World Games TWG from 20 to 30 July 2017 in Wroclaw/Poland. Further qualifying events announced by IFMA will be the World Championships in 2016 and the Asian Indoor Martial Art Games, Ashgabat (TKM), in 2017.

Qualification for TWG 2017 follows a simple principle: only the top athletes or teams in every discipline and sports qualify for participation considering the universality of the event. Unlike the Olympics, invitations to and management of the competition are in the hands of the international sports federations. A total of 27 sports will be showcased in 2017.

In addition to the official programme, four invitational sports competitions will also be showcased. About 180 medal events will be presented at the tenth edition of The World Games. The International World Games Association expects that around 3,600 athletes from about 100 countries will strive for gold in 2017.
