day and they witnessed some great sporting action including 37 new Games

records, 11 Oceania records, 1 Asian record and 1 World Record, in weightlifting.

The Olympic Council of Asia described them as an outstanding success and the

best-ever Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.

400 Games experienced international staff from over 34 countries were recruited

and mobilised to Ashgabat during the 500 days.

These international experts also recruited and trained over 400 national staff through

the Ashgabat 2017 Games Academy to ensure a lasting human legacy of event

professionals for Turkmenistan.

people to ‘deliver brilliant’ when faced with an unprecedented challenge and at the

James Bulley, CEO of Trivandi said ‘In large part the success of the 5th AIMAG is

down to the dedication and commitment of the team operating here in Turkmenistan.

They delivered what seemed like an impossible challenge! I have never been so

proud to be part of such a world class team.’

Mr Dayanch Gulgeldiyev, Chairman of the 5th AIMAG Executive Committee said,
