On the start list we find many of the top names in the sport, such as defending IRONMAN 70.3 European champion Andreas Dreitz, last weekend’s IRONMAN 70.3 Switzerland winner Ruedi Wild and rising superstar Patrik Nilsson among the male contenders. Among the strong female group, we can look forward to watching Helle Frederiksen in her first appearance on home soil in seven years, Camilla Pedersen who has come out strong after her crash in IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona and Britain’s Emma Pallant – all to be considered among the favorites for the title.
"We couldn’t be more excited about the race on Sunday. Never before have we had such a strong group of athletes in a race in Scandinavia. I can’t see it being any less than an epic race including female crowd favorites on home soil," says Thomas Veje Olsen, managing director of the host IRONMAN Denmark.
However, this will not be easy win for anyone, as competitors are strong in both number and ability. Here are some of the contenders to keep an eye on in Sunday’s race.
