Series Premieres of Transform My Meal and Flame Catchers Highlight Olympic Channel Originals in Nov.

Whether you’re looking for nutrition and fitness tips from Olympians, discover new athletes, or learn about the legacies of Olympic host cities, the Olympic Channel has got you covered with new original series premiering this month. From Transform My Meal featuring chefs from around the world re-working how athletes eat to how the Olympic Games can change a nation with Flame Catchers, viewers are invited to go behind the scenes with their favourite sports and athletes exclusively on the Olympic Channel digital platform.

First on the November schedule is the series premiere of Transform My Meal on Thursday, 3 November with four episodes. In this lifestyle cooking series, world-class professional chefs help Olympic athletes transform their boring eating habits into gourmet dishes while preserving nutritional values. Long distance runner Carles Castillejo (ESP) meets with top chefs from Barcelona to turn a boring dish of macaroni into a festival of flavours. Sailor Jonathan Lobert (FRA) learns how to cook a crunchy fish dish from Chef Christopher Coutanceau in La Rochelle, France. Gymnast Erika Fasana (ITA) meets Chicco Cerea, a local chef in Brusaporto, Italy, to prepare a delicious Carpaccio. And Rio 2016 silver medallist in rowing Richard Schmidt (GER) learns how to cook a nice risotto from chef David Kikillus. The series is produced by MediaPro from Spain.

For a humorous and unique take on the world of sports, you won’t want to miss Kids Call premiering on Friday, 11 November. In this series of short videos, youngsters take to the mic to give their reactions to the performances of Olympic athletes. Suitably impressed by what they see, these kids ask themselves if they could emulate the stars. The five premiere episodes will feature kids’ commentary on athletics, Bobsleigh and gymnastics as well as their thoughts on animals in sports and team uniforms. The series is produced by VICE from the U.S.A.

To get a personal look at what it takes to be an up-and-coming athlete in the Middle East & North Africa, watch Generation Rise premiering with eight episodes on Monday, 14 November. The series features many Rio 2016 Olympians and athletes from this region on the rise including Hasnaa Lachgar (MAR-Boxing), Sheik Saeed Al Maktoum (UAE-Shooting), Yousef Mirza (UAE-Cycling), Farhan Sultan (BRN-Swimming), Ali Khamis (BRN-Athletics), Alzain Tareq (BRN-Swimming), Najmed Khedmati (IRI-Shooting) and Reza Yazdani (IRI-Wrestling). The series is produced by Ultramarine from Qatar.

Looking for workout tips? Then check out Hitting the Wall premiering with three episodes on Wednesday, 16 November, where social influencers from the fitness world are put to the test by the workouts of 12 Olympians. Demonstrating their world-class workouts are Rio 2016 silver medallist fencer Enzo Lefort (FRA) with Brandon Myles White (USA), Sochi 2014 Olympic gold medallist curler Kaitlyn Lawes (CAN) with Philip Warren Gertsson (NOR) and Rio 2016 Olympic gold medallist sprinter Natasha Hastings (USA) with Susana Yábar (ESP). The series is produced by The Whistle from the U.S.A.

From how the Olympic flame lit up new beginnings for a sport or country to how the legacy of local sports heroes lives on to inspire generation after generation, Flame Catchers tells the stories of how hosting the Olympic Games has sparked defining moments for a nation's sporting culture. Premiering on Monday, 21 November, with the "London 2012 Legacy in Action", we conquer the Legacy Loop with London 2012 Olympic gold medal winning canoeist Etienne Stott (GBR), and meet a teenager emulating Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist Jessica Ennis-Hill (GBR) and an Olympic baby named after the heptathlete four years after the Games there. The series is produced by Whisper Films from Great Britain.

Olympic Channel original programming showcases both short form and long form content focusing on elite athletes and their quest for success as part of the channel’s overall mission to reach younger generations and fans through content that strengthens their connection to the Olympic Movement outside of the Games themselves.
