WADA, World Snooker, Transparency International, UNICEF Brazil complete speaker line-up
One week to go until Securing Sport 2014
The International Centre of Sport Security (ICSS) has today announced that Sebastian Coe (Vice-President of the International Association of Athletics Federations, Chairman of the British Olympic Association and Chairman of CSM Sport & Entertainment) will headline a list of high-profile speakers at Securing Sport 2014.
A decorated Olympic athlete who went on to lead London’s successful bid and organising committee for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Coe will be interviewed by former BBC Sports Editor, David Bond, in a special one-on-one session on the 7th October.
Under the conference theme of ‘Sport under threat: the game is ours to win’, the session will address a range of current topics and crucial issues currently facing sport including; the security and integrity of major sporting events, protecting young athletes and promoting the core values of sport.
As well as announcing Coe, a host of other high-profile panellists have also been confirmed by the ICSS today to speak at Securing Sport 2014, including:
· David Howman (Director-General of the World Anti-Doping Agency)
· Barry Hearn (Chairman, World Snooker)
· Michael Hershman (Founder of Transparency International)
· Jane Lute (Former US Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security)
· José Ramos-Horta (Head of the UN Integrated Peace Building Office)
· Anne Tiivas (Director, NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit)
· Gary Stahl (Representative, UNICEF Brazil)
Other high-profile names already confirmed to speak at Securing Sport 2014 include:
· Franz Beckenbauer (Chair, 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany LOC)
· Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros (Chief Executive, ICSS Europe)
· Umberto Gandini (Vice President, European Club Association / Director AC Milan)
· Kimberley Morris (Head of Integrity and Compliance, FIFA TMS)
· Javier Tebas (President of Spanish La Liga)
· Bobby Barnes (President of FIFPro Europe/ Deputy CEO of the English Professional Footballers Association)
