At the end of eliminations for individual categories, Japan is still the leading country. Indeed, the Japanese team is in position to win gold in 5 categories of the 14 categories. France and Egypt are also in good position with 4 athletes qualified for the Finals that will be held on Saturday. Host Germany will compete for Gold in 3 categories. In total, 13 countries will have the opportunity to win at least one World title in individual categories this Saturday.

The 22nd World Senior Championships started on Wednesday at the Bremen ÖVB Arena and will continue today with eliminations for team categories. In total, 976 athletes from 116 countries registered for this 22nd Edition of the most important karate competition in the World. The World Senior Championships are organized every two years since their creation in 1970, and the previous edition was held in Paris. The World Karate Championships takes place in Bremen for the first time and in Germany (after Munich 2000) for the second time.
