Schiller has been named to the newly-createdposition of Vice Chairman and President of the Sports, Media, and EntertainmentPractice. Schiller serves as Chairman of theBoard and CEO of GlobalOptions Group, a multidisciplinary international risk

management and business solutions company. His diverse leadership positionshave included: Chairman of Assante U.S., a leading provider of financial andlife management products; Chairman and CEO of YankeeNets, an integratedsports-based media company with ownership of the New York Yankees, New JerseyNets, and New Jersey Devils; president of Turner Sports, Inc., a division ofTime Warner; and president and governor of the NHL expansion franchise, AtlantaThrashers.

Before joining Turner in 1994,Schiller was Executive Director/Secretary General of the United States OlympicCommittee (USOC). He worked directly insupport of the award of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games to the city ofAtlanta. In December 1994, he was awardedthe prestigious Olympic Order. Schiller joined the USOC after serving asCommissioner of the Southeastern Conference from 1986 to 1990 and served as amember of the NCAA Executive Committee.

He also served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force (USAF) from 1962 to 1986including combat service in Vietnam, and attained the rank of BrigadierGeneral. In 1980, the President of theUnited States appointed Schiller as a Permanent Professor at the U.S. Air ForceAcademy.

He is a recipient of several military awardsincluding the Legion of Merit and Distinguished Flying Cross. The native of Brooklyn, New York earnedhis bachelor's degree from The Citadel and is a smember of their Athletic Hallof Fame. He earned his master's degreeand doctorate from the University of Michigan, and holds honorary doctoratesfrom The Citadel and Northern Michigan University.
