Yordi Vilchez on the new Alianza Lima system: “It was good for us. We can have the ball and propose”

Alianza Lima has resumed its course in the 2022 Liga 1 after categorically beating Universitario de Deportes in the Peruvian football classic. In that sense, Yordi Vílchez acknowledged that this variation has worked wonders for them and they hope to continue on the path of triumph.

“This system, in all, allows us to have one more partner in the middle who can associate and that is very evident in the matches. It is seen that they get together more and that is important to have the ball, rotate it and propose. It has been good for us and we hope to continue playing that way,” said the national defender in an interview for Radio Ovación.

Indeed, the 'Victorian' player had a difficult start with the whole team, since until before the classic, they had barely scored 8 points with a negative balance of 3 losses, 2 draws and just 2 wins. In addition, they received 9 goals, which was a surprising fact because they had the best defense of the championship last year. However, they hope that this recent triumph will be the turning point for what is next for them in the local tournament and the Copa Libertadores.

By the way, the Peruvian defender confessed that they still hope to overcome the group stage despite the 2 defeats at the start. “We want to change the history and that reality, not only of Alianza, but of Peruvian football.
