Lucas Alario could leave Bayer Leverkusen: the striking price of his start

The German press argues that the future of the Argentine striker would be outside Die Werkself

In Germany they report that Lucas Alario's days at Bayer Leverkusen would be numbered. According to the Kicker media, the striker who emerged from the Colón de Santa Fe quarry and with an outstanding passage through River Plate would go in search of greater continuity.

The media said that “his departure is taken for sure” and that the striker, who is still bidding for a place on Lionel Scaloni's final list to join the Argentine team's squad in the Qatar World Cup, would not have the minutes he longs for in the Bundesliga under the leadership of coach Gerardo Seoane.

One of the keys to achieving his departure would be that his termination clause is 6.5 million euros, an amount that seems accessible to most of the casts of the major European leagues or Brazilian or Mexican football entities.

Of course, River Plate should not be removed from the list of interested parties either, since it could lose Julián Álvarez in June if he finally joins Pep Guardiola in this transfer window to Manchester City (his pass now belongs to the Citizens). The tip was always liked by Marcelo Gallardo, but it will be key if the footballer wants to return to Argentine football.

Pipa, who has been at Bayer Leverkusen for five seasons (she arrived in 2017 and has a contract until mid-2024), never managed to settle as a starter in the German team. During this period he competed in the offensive with names such as those of Kai Havertz (he played in that sector of the field before leaving for Chelsea), Kevin Volland (currently in Monaco), Patrik Schick and Sardar Azmoun (the Iranian arrived in January of this year from Russia's Zenit).

Throughout this season the Santafesino played a total of 29 matches (although in only 9 was the match), in which he scored five goals (four in the Bundesliga and one for Europa League) and did not provide any assistance.

Today the undisputed starter is Patrik Schick, the team's top gunner with 20 shouts - all for the local tournament - in 27 matches, allowing him to be the second scorer in the Bungesliga, beating Erling Haaland (18) and only falling behind Robert Lewandowski (32). He also contributed 3 passes.

This situation plays against him in his bid to wear the albiceleste shirt at the World Cup. The last time he signed the form (he did not leave the bench of substitutes) was on October 15, 2021, in the 1-0 victory against Peru at Monumental.
