Chumel Torres mocked AMLO for saying he respects Enrique Peña Nieto: “How difficult it is to be chairo”

On the morning of April 21, the name of Enrique Peña Nieto became a trend again on social networks due to the fact that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador declared during his morning conference that he had respect and consideration for not having interfered in the 2018 presidential elections.

The Tabasco president argued that, although there are many reasons why the former PRI president could be questioned, he respected him for refusing the opportunity to participate in the plot that opposition groups were allegedly organizing to prevent Andrés Manuel López Obrador from becoming president.

“I have respect for former President Peña because he can be questioned for many things... I denounced him myself and accused him of being a traitor to the country. I denounced it to the Public Prosecutor's Office using that article of the Penal Code, but why do I have consideration and respect for it? Because unlike Calderón and Fox and others, he didn't get into the election,” said the president of Mexico during his morning conference.

In this regard, as is customary, Chumel Torres took advantage of his statements to mock the president with a comment full of his characteristic and acidic sense of humor.

Similarly, during his morning conference President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured “zero simulation” within his government, which, he said, would allow any opponent (both politically and beyond) to be a candidate for the desired presidency.

Under this premise, the Tabasco president uncovered the names of those who, from his perspective, could be presidential in 2024. Among those mentioned were Foreign Minister Marcerlo Ebrard and Mexico City's head of government Claudia Sheinbaum. However, Andrés Manuel López Obrador added irony and sarcasm to his statement to also appoint PAN deputy Margarita Zavala, Gabriel Quadri and Rubén Moreira. Later, with a mockery tone, he also alluded to the name of Chumel Torres and Carlos Loret de Mola.

“I am pleased that there is debate and that we already know that Claudia or Marcelo Ebrard can replace me. Or Felipe Calderón's wife, or Moreira, or Quadri, Loret de Mola... Chumel, with all due respect, Chumel... don't get angry,” said the president of Mexico.

The video soon reached the driver of El Pulso de la República, so he also responded to the president's statements.

Throughout the six-year term of Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Chumel Torres has positioned himself as one of the most popular opinion leaders, standing out for his comments full of sarcasm and irony. On more than one occasion, the influencer has made the president uncomfortable, because it is not a secret that the president of Mexico cares very much what is said in the press and networks about him and his administration.

However, Chumel Torres enjoys taking every opportunity he has to mock or criticize the president and the Fourth Transformation, spreading on social networks some of Mexico's most controversial projects such as the one recently rejected Electric Reform or Felipe Angeles International Airport.

Recently, the Chihuahua influencer ironized the lack of flights that the new Felipe Ángeles International Airport, one of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's star projects, allegedly had.

After the announcement of the work, Chumel Torres disqualified the project and criticized every detail of it, from the infrastructure and documentary of its creation that Epigmenio Ibarra and the Tabasco president released until the president of Mexico himself did not use it for his work trips. His comments have provoked the anger of different supporters of the current administration and even, the Chihuahua influencer faces a complaint of political gender violence.
