They dismantled clandestine gas station in Reynosa; it had 36 thousand liters of irregular hydrocarbons

Federal authorities secured a clandestine gas station in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, where they found 36,000 liters of hydrocarbons being sold irregularly in the border city.

In a statement, the Attorney General's Office (FGR) reported on what happened last Wednesday, April 13, when federal security forces came to the scene to conduct a search at a home located on Federal Highway 101 Matamoros-San Fernando.

At the scene, personnel from the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena) of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) and the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) arrested two subjects “related to the probable commission of hydrocarbon crimes”, as reported by the FGR.

“In addition, he secured a building, which, as a result of the investigations, was used as a clandestine gas station, as well as 36,000 liters of hydrocarbon, dispatching pumps, various documentation and security camera videos of the scene,” federal authorities said.

The security forces obtained the search warrant after an extensive investigation into the case, so in the company of expert personnel “they completed the order in a building located on a ranch called “SAGOGA”, on Federal Highway 101 Matamoros-San Fernando, Municipality of San Fernando, Tamaulipas and where he highlighted the support of elements of the Secretariat of National Defense, who provided perimeter security throughout the entire diligence”.

Both subjects and the insured assets were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office for the subsequent integration of the investigation folder for crimes involving hydrocarbons, since sanctions will be applied against those responsible for the acts.

On the same day of the security operation on the country's northern border, four trailers that maintained a blockade on the Pharr International Bridge were set on fire by armed persons, as the trailers had held a roadblock to protest against the new customs measures in Tamaulipas.

Heavy truck drivers began a demonstration against the measures imposed by Texas Governor Gregg Abbott, who established a tightening of reviews on international bridges crossing from Mexico to the United States.

On April 8, the Texas government announced that it will carry out “improved” inspections at the state borders, which would aim to “secure the US-Mexico border,” according to the state governor.

According to witnesses to the attack on the vehicles, one of the drivers was deprived of his liberty by armed persons, an act that his companions tried to prevent by trying to remove the weapon from the attacker, but it was not achieved.

The blockade on the Reynosa-Pharr international bridge began last Sunday, April 10, due to the long lines caused by the implementation of the new review measures at border points.

On the morning of the third day of the blockade, one of the trucks was set on fire by four armed attackers, who sprayed the unit with gasoline and subsequently set it on fire, which did not take lives, because despite being intimidated by the aggressors, the drivers were released.

For their part, the governors of Tamaulipas and Coahuila, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca and Miguel Ángel Riquelme Soís, sent a letter to the Texan president, in which they asked him to reconsider the inspection policies imposed by his government.
