The case of Damaso López Serrano, El Mini Lic, was sealed in the United States, as can be seen in the courts' lists.

This man, who turned himself in to the Anti-Drug Agency (DEA) in 2017, would be planning a negotiation with the authorities of that country, all to achieve a reduction in his sentence.

López Serrano is the son of Damaso Lopez, El Licenciado, compadre of Joaquín el Chapo Guzman. Five years ago he surrendered to the US government because Ismael el Mayo Zambada, chief chief of the Sinaloa Cartel, was on his heels.

After the capture of Chapo, Mini Lic claimed in blood the vacant throne in the Sinaloa organization; however, he had received several death threats from the leaders of the criminal group. According to reports, the Mini Lic was waging an open war with Los Chapitos.

The news about Mini Lic's alleged collaboration with the US authorities is not entirely favorable for Mexicans, since in the country he is accused of the murder of journalist Javier Valdez. Cooperation would close all possibilities of his extradition, says the collaborator of the weekly Ríodoce, Miguel Ángel Vega.

Damaso López Serrano, nicknamed the Mini Lic, is the son of Damaso López Núñez, known as El Licenciado, financial operator of the Sinaloa Cartel, and for many years, one of Chapo Guzmán's trusted men.

After the extradition of the aforementioned capo, one of the most wanted in the world, one of the strong bets to take command of the Cartel, it was precisely Damaso and his son, from whom he inherited the nickname Mini Lic.

Gerardo Ortiz's song is about a man from Culiacán, who ironically respects the hierarchy and “his godfather”, whom he later ratted out. In addition, he would be a man of friends, loyalties, with a special taste for partying, women and luxuries.

A pa ', Mr. Licenciado, my faithful beloved friend, I am very grateful to you because you have given me your hand; I have in mind you and all your people here, as well as with Culiacán, where you know how to treat...

According to his appearance before a California court, Lopez Serrano was responsible for organizing the transport of thousands of kilograms of heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine from Mexico to the United States of America.

Both characters entered into a direct conflict with Jesús Alfredo and Iván Archivaldo, sons of Chapo, who eventually took full control of the Cartel when “El Licenciado” was arrested and Damado López Serranos surrendered to the United States Anti-Drug Agency (DEA) in 2017.

But that's not where his story ends. In 2019, Damaso López Núñez was identified as a collaborator with the US authorities, as he testified against El Chapo Guzman in a Brooklyn court.

In addition, she was a key player in the trial of Emma Coronel Aispuro, who was sentenced to 36 months in isolation in a U.S. prison for her involvement in drug trafficking and money laundering.

Like El Licenciado, his father, El Mini Lic narrated before a judge the criminal activities of the Sinaloa Cartel. In addition, he confessed to being the mastermind of 15 murders and more than 20 kidnappings of enemies of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Lopez Serrano, 29, signed his guilty plea in the court of the Southern District of California, based in San Diego, the same state where he currently continues locked up.
