With a credential from the National Electoral Institute (INE) in hand, President López Obrador cast his vote in Calle de Moneda located in the Historic Center this April 10 at about 8:45 in the morning, just minutes after the opening of polls.
It should be added that during the morning conference on April 5, the president had assured on his ballot he would write, “Viva Emiliano Zapata”:
“At once I'm going to tell you that I can't vote for either one thing or the other, but I do have to go and vote (...) It's like when I voted for president, because I voted for Monsiváis, for Elenita Poniatowska, for Chema Perez Gay, for Rodolfo Peña, now I'm going to put on my ballot, “Viva Emiliano Zapata”,” said the president.
