Afuera del centro penitenciario, los cómplices que los ayudaron a escapar, los esperaban en tres vehículos. A federal judge in Zacatecas handed down a conviction against five members of organized crime.

They were sentenced for the crime of attempted murder, stockpiling of firearms, possession of cartridges and magazines for firearms, as well as health.

According to the investigation kit, those now sentenced were detained by elements of the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA), in coordination with elements of the State Preventive Police.

The arrests resulted from an armed aggression against the elements of these two institutions, which originated from inside a building located in the community of Chupaderos, in Villa de Cos, Zacatecas.

Therefore, the agent of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) requested a search warrant for that place, authorized by the District Judge specializing in the Accusatory Criminal System, in which elements of the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) and the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) intervened, in coordination with Expert Services .

There they secured 10 long guns, a grenade launcher, seven long gun magazines, 197 useful cartridges, an artisanal fragmentation grenade and two handcrafted grenade bodies.

The MPF decided to take these persons to the detention control hearing before the competent authority, which, after qualifying it as legal, linked them to the process and, through an oral trial, proved their criminal responsibility.

The judge in the case granted a sentence of 45 years 11 months one day in prison for Carlos “M”; Leonel “A” and César “R” were sentenced to 44 years, while for Eduardo “G” and Julio “M” 35 years were handed down one day in prison.

On the night of this Sunday, April 3, two violent events occurred, almost simultaneously, that made Fresnillo, Zacatecas tremble. One was recorded in the Barrio Alto neighborhood and the other in Francisco Villa, leaving a total of five homicides.

According to the first reports, it was almost midnight when a man was shot and attacked on Malpaso Street, located between Pantheon and Andrés A. Frías, in the Barrio Alto neighborhood. The victim was found lying on the pavement with gunshot wounds.

In a matter of minutes, the sound of bullets terrified the inhabitants of the Francisco Villa neighborhood, because on September 2nd Street, one block from the temple of San Francisco de Asis, a group of armed men forcibly broke into a home and shot dead four people, three men and one woman.

Members of the Investigative Police (PDI) went to both crime scenes to carry out the corresponding investigations, while staff of the Public Prosecutor's Office initiated investigation kits and experts from the General Directorate of Expert Services (DGSP) collected evidence, including percussion cartridges.

These events join the list of the various homicides and bloody scenarios that have hit Zacatecas in recent weeks as a result of the wave of violence in the state.
