Former President Vicente Fox Quesada once again lashed out at Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO). Through his official Twitter account, the 79-year-old politician asked citizens not to go out and cast their votes during the day of the citizen consultation on the Revocation of Mandate, which will take place on April 10.
With a video, Fox Quesada indicated that his message will “hit” the Tabasqueño, since he asked to make “vacuum” during the citizen consultation to “hit him hard on his ego and his pride.” “The void, not going to vote, is the consensus that we have those who think that we must defeat this man and we must begin to defeat him because of his terrible ego, because of his great pride and because of how mam*n and bloody he is”, was the message he sent to the citizens.
However, this was not the first time that the former president has spoken out against the citizens' consultation which will decide whether López Obrador will continue to head the federal executive or, on the contrary, be removed from office by popular vote; he has previously called on the Twitter community not to attend the boxes for democratic exercise in order not to participate “in the farce”. Leave him crazy in his Palace!” , he said.

On this issue, the former president has supported the statements of journalist Carlos Loret de Mola, who described the consultation as a “weapon of political extortion” and compared the Tabasco with Hugo Chavez, former Venezuelan president and Bolivian Evo Morales. He has also supported figures such as Ciro Murayama and Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, president of the National Electoral Institute (INE), who has been involved in several clashes with AMLO.
A few weeks ago, Fox Quesada showed its support for the INE and supported the statements in which Córdova called all the actors who promoted the Mandate Revocation despite the electoral ban “cheats”. “If the traps continue, the only thing that will be provoked is that citizens are kept away from the polls,” said the president.
“(Cheaters) are all those public actors who have prohibitions in the law and who are violating the law. They are all those who put rules and today they don't like them and make fun of them. It is all those who do not have a democratic commitment who have been issued precautionary measures time and time again, who have been ratified by the Electoral Tribunal and who corrode the democratic fabric,” said Lorenzo Córdova.

The former PAN militant has also spoken out against Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo because of her stance on the INE. On the afternoon of this Monday, April 4, the Head of Government of Mexico City (CDMX) said that it is “time to change” the INE and assured that the proposal to reform that López Obrador proposed for the collegiate body is viable. After this, Fox called the capital president “bootlicker” and “creeping”.
Another aspect that Fox Quesada has widely criticized is the raffle of the presidential plane, which was recently remembered by the coordinator of the National Action Party (PAN) senators in the Senate, Julen Rementería del Puerto and called it an “air scam”. In this regard, the former Mexican president ironized with the following tweet: “Voting in the revocation of the mandate is like hoping to win a plane in a raffle.”
