Elite: Season 5

Shortly after its release, in mid-2021, the fourth season of Elite rose to the top 10 positions in the ranking of foreign series. The end of that stage of this Spanish series left many questions unresolved, which will begin to be resolved in the fifth season, available for streaming from April 8. And more will surely be considered: the platform announced that the sixth season is already in production.

At Las Encinas school, a new semester begins and with it a new mystery, as well as many parties, romances, nudity and deaths. The events begin after Phillipe's catastrophic party and Guzman's escape. New narrative lines will open in search of the truth about Armando's death and will affect other protagonists, who keep too many secrets. One of them could end the love story between Samuel and Ari.

According to the creators of the series, Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona, conflicts will no longer be between different classes — the scholarship recipients who come to the school of the rich — but between nuances of the privileged: old money versus new money. Thus, the cast headed by Miguel Bernardeau, Ester Expósito, Itzan Escamilla, Omar Ayuso, Arón Piper and Georgina Amorós will be joined by André Lamoglia as the son of a successful footballer, Valentina Zenere as Isadora, an entrepreneur DJ from Ibiza and Adam Nourou as Bilal, an immigrant who comes into the life of Omar and generates tension in his friendship with Samuel.

Alvaro de Juana, Ana Bokesa, Carmen Arrufat, Alejandro Pastrana and Ander Puig will also be other new young people from the upper classes who will join the group that seeks less academic excellence promised by Las Encinas than excesses in parties, sex and drugs, with some criminal consequences such as murder and embezzlement of backgrounds in this version of Rebelde in the key of thriller.

The Ultimatum: Saying Yes or Saying Goodbye

On April 6, the new reality series of couples from the creators of Love is Blind will be released. Six couples put their love to the test (while entangling with others) in a provocative show: will they agree to marry or will they end their relationship? Fun moments and emotional situations will expose your true feelings for who could be your life partners.

With eight first episodes to follow, on April 13, the season finale with the special meeting, the 10 episodes of this series that hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey will follow the stories of April and Jake, Shanique and Randall, Rae and Zay, Madlyn and Colby, Lauren and Nate and Alexis and Hunter, who have been united for two years on average and at any time they could take the next step if it were for one of the members of each couple. Or not, if it were for the other one.

The Ultimatum's bet is to match or surpass the reality dating series created by Chris Coelen in 2020, Love is Blind. That show followed 15 men and 15 women from a city hoping to find love; it allowed them to get to know each other, albeit without seeing each other face to face, through dates over 10 days.

Yaksha: Ruthless Operations

Riding the wave of Korean streaming success, Yaksha: Merciless Operations presents Jinyoung from boy band GOT7, Park Hae Soo (The Squid Game) and Sol Kyung Gu in a thriller and action film that will be released on April 8.

Yaksha is the ruthless leader of an undercover international secret operations team. When he embarks on a dangerous mission, he discovers, through traps and betrayals, that he has entered a battlefield mined with spies and agents. His only option is to join forces with a respectable prosecutor sent as inspector from Seoul.

In Shenyang, the geopolitical center of northeast Asia that is also the city with the highest density of spies per square meter in the world, the unlikely team that is thus formed will develop a secret intelligence operation in which the fate of much of the continent is decided.

Jimmy Savile: A British horror story

Tras la muerte del popular conductor de "Jim’ll Fix It" se conocieron más de 450 casos de abuso sexual. (Netflix)

This true crime docuseries will be released on April 6: it tells the story of the UK television star whom everyone loved for her eccentricities and philanthropy, until after her death in 2011, her dark side became known: a series of allegations of sexual abuse.

An investigation traced more than 450 cases of sexual assault, with victims as young as five years old. This documentary examines, through archival images, Savile's secrets and how he managed to deceive an entire nation for four decades, including Prince Charles. It's also a warning about the dangers of idolizing celebrities.

Savile started out as a DJ, then went on radio and finally triumphed on television with shows like Top of the Pops and Jim'll Fix It, which turned out to be his most popular show. There Savile granted a wish to his spectators, with a mostly children's audience. It later emerged that many of the allegations of sexual abuse were linked to the production of this program.

Metal Lords

On April 8, this new project by D.B. Weiss, co-creator of Games of Thrones, will be released, which follows The Chair, the limited series starring Sandra Oh. Also made with his partner, David Benioff, this film tells the story of two rebellious teenagers, Hunter and Kevin, who set themselves a goal: to dedicate themselves to metal, to win the battle of the bands and to become the idols of their high school.

Adrian Greensmith and Jaeden Martell star these characters who listen to the music of Anthrax, Megadeth, Slipknot and Black Sabbath, among other heavy metal bands that nobody cares about at Glenwood Lake High School, where popular kids cover Ed Sheeran. For Hunter, metal is a way to protect himself from bullying and his father's indifference. Kevin is his best friend, a quiet and lonely percussionist.

To complete the band, they are joined by Emily (Isis Hainsworth) in this production directed by Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist) which has Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) as executive music producer.
