Although President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the legislators of the self-called “Fourth Transformation” (Q4) have complained that the National Electoral Institute (INE) is not sufficiently promoting the popular consultation on the Revocation of the Mandate, the reality is that the agency is using any type of communication strategy to reach citizenship, especially the youngest.
Through its official TikTok account, the INE has published a series of videos explaining the importance of participating in the democratic exercise next Sunday, April 10. But the attractive thing is that for this he used anime scenes (cartoons from Japan).
Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Evangelion, Foodwars! and Attack on Titans, are the titles that appear among his video clips.
For example, in one of them Shinji from Evangelion asks “I don't know why they want to go to that”, to which his schoolmates respond: “Shinji! you just don't understand, do you? It is important that all people participate in the democracy exercises. It's for Mexico!” , they say in unison as they hit him on the head to correct it.
In another one, Naruto appears, as the leader of the village of La Hoja, explaining to the Genin (basic level ninjas), as well as other inhabitants, it is to say whether the President of the Republic should continue in office only by answering yes or no on the ballot.
