“Stop wasting time and get to work”: Julen Rementería broke out again against Cuitlahuac Gacia

The governor of Veracruz alluded to the coordinator of the National Action Party (PAN) in the Mexican Senate when talking about the luminaire company “NL Technologies”

Once again, Senator of the National Action Party (PAN), Julen Rementería del Puerto, lashed out against the constitutional governor of the state of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García Jiménez. This time, the reason for the criticism of the panista arose after the alleged statements in which the state president warned that he would start an investigation against him.

In this way, Rementería used his official Twitter account to comment on the matter: “Today Cuitláhuac García came out to say that he is going to investigate me. Governor: You have Veracruz in second place in kidnappings, millions of unemployed Veracruzans and thousands of bankrupt companies. Research me what you want, but stop wasting time and get to work,” he said on social media.

In a press conference, García Jiménez indicated that Rementería del Puerto is linked to the “leonine contracts” between different municipalities and the luminaire company NL Technologies during the administration of Miguel Ángel Yunes.

In this regard, García said that the company would provide public lighting services through agreements and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). “They supposedly maintain, install new lights, pay for street lighting, put up poles, etc. and in exchange for that they charge the municipality an amount (...) it turns out that neither in Poza Rica nor in Tuxpan, to count just two, they did not put the lights,” said the governor and condemned that the company motivated the indebtedness of municipalities with the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).

In this way, he indicated that a review should be made of the scheme with which NL Technologies operated and specified that his administration suspects that, within the company, there are former officials of the previous government and one of them is currently a senator, referring to Julen Rementería. “I saw it published in a newspaper article (...) Julen is in the note, he is linked to that company,” said the president.

However, this is not the first time that Rementería has attacked the president of Veracruz, because after the case of José Manuel del Río Virgen, the leader of the National Action Party (PAN) bench in the Mexican Senate indicated that inside the blue and white they are “pleased” with the judge's decision in favor of the secretary technician of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of the Upper House.

However, he pointed out that this fact revealed that García Jiménez has allegedly made a “factious use” of the law in the entity, which allowed Del Rio Virgen to be deprived of liberty since December 2021. Previously, the coordinator recommended that the activist of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) dedicate himself to dealing with complaints of abuses of authority, as well as human rights violations, rather than issuing forecasts on the future of opposition political parties.

In the short message, Rementería stressed that García Jiménez must spend his energy on confronting the increase in insecurity that has occurred in the state, especially since he took office in 2018, since there will be PAN “for many years”

“Governor, what has to disappear from #Veracruz are the #AbusosDeAutoridad and #DerechosHumanos violations that your government is committing against #veracruzanos. Better use your energy to put an end to so much #Inseguridad in the state. Despite it, #PAN will be there for many years”, he wrote this Wednesday, February 2.
