Almost 4 months after Carmen Salinas' regrettable death, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences paid her a well-deserved tribute as part of In Memorian, a section of the ceremony aimed at remembering and applauding the trajectory of great industry stars who lost their lives over the past year. After the moving moment, María Eugenia Plascencia thanked the gesture and told how she lived it with her relatives.
The 94th Oscar Awards were held last Sunday, March 27 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Minutes before the unfortunate encounter between Will Smith and Chris Rock took place, the organizers presented a screening with the artists who died in 2021 leaving an indelible mark on the cinematographic work.
Among the images was Carmen Salinas, a Mexican actress who shone on the big screen in file tapes and in telenovelas who died on December 9, 2021, three days before another irreparable loss to the world of entertainment, Vicente Fernández. Faced with the sensitive gesture, her daughter expressed a heartfelt thanks to the Academy for considering her mother as part of the awards gala.

“It was a very emotional moment, it was an unexpected moment but it was a moment... that we all cried and cried because I thank the Academy a lot for this recognition that my mother gave there among all the people who died last year and part of it and it was very big, really,” he declared for the program Hoy.
After her special appearance at the prestigious event, Camelita Salinas became a social media trend. The actress won the audience's love with her performances, but also because of the charisma that characterized her throughout her career. It is worth remembering that in recent years, the performer used to share her opinion on various subjects, so she might have talked about the blow that Will Smith gave to Chris Rock.
Seeing her face on such an important stage provoked the reaction of netizens, who filled Twitter with words of affection for the late imitator. In this regard, María Eugenia Plascencia confessed that it filled her with joy to know that the public keeps her mother present and said that some people contacted her to make her participate in the tribute.

“My mother is no longer there to see this great tribute that was paid to her there and that people applauded when they saw her. You don't know all the people who were texting me or talking to me to say: 'How big, ''An icon is gone', 'Well deserved', I'm very happy,” she concluded in front of the morning's cameras.
