After the death of the actor Octavio Ocaña, best known for his character as Benito Rivers in the series Vecinos, in October 2021, show business completely slowed down. Thus, collaborators, friends of the acclaimed show were devastated by the departure of the charismatic young man.
Several months after the event, on March 27, the new season of Vecinos will be released through the channel Las Estrellas and will occupy the time of 19:30 hours and not only has it been revealed from the official account of the series what will be the tribute to Benito Rivers, but also members of the cast together with the producer they have already uncovered some important details of the character's appearance.
One of the first to speak was actor Pablo Valentín, who plays Pedro Medina, mentioned during an interview with Mara Patricia Castañeda that Benito would have a special moment in the new chapters.
“He was like our little brother, then inside and outside, as Benito and Octavio loved him very much, it is an irreparable loss [...] however we set out in Vecino to honor him, not to get involved in speculation and that is what we are going to take care of,” he said.
In this regard, the actor said that within the plot Benito Rivers would audition for the role of an angel and then, if selected, would go abroad.

“Then the Neighbors are outside the building and Benito starts talking to his girlfriend, his parents and we get together so they can hand us over the phone and say goodbye to him,” he said.
Pablo Valentín said it was a very moving day where everyone got engaged to be able to say a farewell phrase for Octavio Ocaña.
“It was a scene where we all ended up looking at the sky,” he said.
On the other hand, in an interview with TVyNovelas, the producer of Vecinos, Elías Solorio, mentioned that Ocaña's death was something that shocked everyone involved in the project and since the news broke, something that was clear to the creative team was the need to pay tribute to Benito.

“Octavio is always going to be on the show, in the first chapter we are going to explain that, so you can't miss it. The truth is that we wanted to do something with great affection, with great care too, because for everyone it was a very strong blow. It was difficult for everyone to record these seasons, but it also gave us this enthusiasm and joy to be able to pay tribute to someone we love so much,” Solorio explained.
He also delved into the fact that the desire of the production was that Benito would never leave the building and that they would always have him there.
“We have a responsibility to people and part of that commitment is to do a grain of sand so that within everything bad that happens in the world or around us they can have fun for a while, they can laugh [...] we had to try to abstract everything in order to reorganize what was already armed, was already written and we we started to work in a forced march”, he clarified.
