There are only a few hours left before the commitment between the Colombian team and the Bolivian national team for the 17th date of the qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The 'Tricolor' clings to the accounts in order to qualify and, to do so, will have to look for the victory this Thursday against 'La Verde' at the Metropolitano Stadium in Barranquilla, which received a sanction by FIFA.

One of the aspects that have compromised the 'Cafetero' team in recent matches is the lack of a goal. Since that 3-1 victory against Chile, seven games ago, the team has not been able to score, nor have the three points scored. Therefore, the margin of error is now minimal, and other results should be expected on the day.

As is often the case in knockout commitments, working time has been reduced. In the case of Colombia, coach Reinaldo Rueda was barely able to carry out two training sessions with the entire group (Tuesday and Wednesday); however, at a press conference he hinted at some potential variants in the starting lineup.

Faced with the possibility of having Juan Fernando Quintero and James Rodríguez together from the start, the Cali coach said: “Juan Fernando's thing is very positive in River. He's regaining his level with many minutes. It's a great alternative we have. They couldn't be together with James. Now they're both here. It is a possibility that can be given.”

The objective, according to Rueda, is for the team to be able to “free up its game” and offer a good collective functioning: “We have to trust what little has been done today, since the team was put together. Of the men who gave the best response between the training unit yesterday and today.”

Finally, regarding the possibility of playing with a single brand steering wheel, the coach of the 'Tricolor' asked for caution and said that “a smart match must be made”. “Those who arrived are in a very good position. Everything has gone through the last resort, the completion, is something that was insisted on, on the construction and surprise to be able to unbalance the rivals. That is the intention, what is wanted and for that we will go out on the court”, he concluded.

Reinaldo Rueda, in the course of the qualifiers, has used to maintaining a player base, beyond some tweaks in the initial roster. In the face of Yerry Mina's injury and the few minutes that Dávinson Sanchez has had at Tottenham, the defensive backward would undergo changes. The starters would be Carlos Cuesta and William Tesillo.

Wilmar Barrios is one of the 'untouchables' in the team, but the question would be who his companion should be, playing the role of mixed steering wheel. Matheus Uribe would win the pulse of Jefferson Lerma, who has accumulated distinctions in English football.

James and Quintero together? As explained earlier, Rueda did not close the door to this option, which is why it would not be surprising if you decide to include both of us in the headline. The last time the two creative fliers were on the pitch together was in October 2018, in a friendly against Costa Rica.

In the offensive zone, Rafael Santos Borré would serve as a pivot, helping in the game generation to nurture the main striker: Luis Fernando Muriel. In this last position, Miguel Ángel Borja could also come into consideration, especially for the locality.

Colombia's' eleven 'would be this: David Ospina; Juan Guillermo Cuadrado, Carlos Cuesta, William Tesillo, Frank Fabra; Wilmar Barrios, Matheus Uribe, James Rodriguez, Juan Fernando Quintero; Rafael Santos Borré and Luis Fernando Muriel. Training: 4-4-2.
