At the gates of Peru vs Uruguay, the Israeli fan said that he was about to miss the momentous international duel because he almost ended up in prison after going astray through the streets of Montevideo
David Chauca told the chamber of América Noticias about his journey through Uruguayan streets, which almost ended with a sad end for him. “Yesterday I was very happy with the arrival of the national team. Everyone was calling me to talk, I stayed until the last one to be able to leave. But my cell phone goes out and I didn't know how to get to my hotel because there was the address,” said the White-Red Fan.
“It was 2 in the morning here in Uruguay. I asked the Uruguayans if they knew a square called Bartholomew, they told me 10 blocks away, but nobody knew,” he continued with his story.
After being disoriented for a few minutes, the Israeli fan met some journalists from the aforementioned medium, who boarded him in a taxi. However, Chauca gave the driver wrong information.
“He takes me to Bartholomew Square, but it wasn't there, I had gone a lot further away. Then I tell the taxi driver to leave me here, but he replies that he couldn't leave me. I insisted, but he told me he was going to take me to the police station. Take me, I say,” he said.
“What bothered me the most was that I didn't want to let myself charge my cell phone. There is the address, I said, but I didn't want to”, he continued with his story. After the impasse, the taxi driver called reporter Romina Vega, who was the person who got the transport, to return it with them. “I was very embarrassed, but the lady was very kind, she saved me,” he said.
For her part, Romina Vega said that she was very worried to see David Chauca disoriented. “I already felt like his mother. The taxi driver called me and said: What am I doing, miss, should I take you to the police station? ”, said the journalist.
Finally, the renowned national team fan thanked all the support he received from the workers of channel 4 and remembered everything that had to happen to get to Uruguay to accompany the Peruvian national team.
“I came from Lima — Paraguay. In Asunción I miss my flight and I had to go to Chile, from there to Montevideo and here I am. To get there I left my motorcycle, but of course, I haven't neglected the pot. I have left everything complete to my wife and mother,” he said.
“Whenever there are many obstacles there is a light in the background, and that will be the three points. Today is the vigil and the banner, they say it's going to rain with the radio, but hey, with all that I'm left with”, he concluded.
SELL MASKS IN URUGUAY
To cover his expenses in Uruguay, David Chauca pawned his motorcycle taxi and is selling masks. In addition, he thanked him once again for the support he received from Erick Osores, who asked him to spare 100 masks for him.
“I have brought 300 masks, I sell them for 100 pesos each, I have 100 more left. I had to pawn my motorcycle taxi at two thousand soles to be able to come,” said the fan.
“I am very grateful to my friend Osores, I love him very much. God bless you all, we will continue to encourage the national team, it will be a bit of a tight match. I tell you that I went to the complex where the Uruguayans are, I was alone there,” said the Israelite Fan.
