The series premiered its last episodes in May 2018. Since then, it has been one of the most anticipated fiction and has been placed on the table with important titles such as Better Call Saul, Succession and Peaky Blinders due to the impact and reception of the specialized press and the public. After four years of waiting, Altanta returns with new episodes on Thursday, March 24, on US television, although there is no news of when it will arrive in Latin America.
Donald Glover (known in the music world as Childish Gambino) created, wrote and starred in every season of the series. When said fiction began, the rest of the cast were all new to the industry, but due to the success of Atlanta, today they are established and sought after figures for various projects. The main cast consists of Brian Tyree Henry (Eternals, Kong vs. Godzilla), Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2, Joker) and Lakeith Stanfield (Run away! ). The series is produced by Glover and his brother, Stephen, along with Paul Simms, Dianne McGunigle and Hiro Murai.
The events of the next chapters will follow the group of friends on their adventures in Europe. Earn (Donald Glover), Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield) and Van (Zazie Beetz) embark on a European tour achieving one of the hard and coveted things in the first few seasons: money. The final episode of Atlanta season 2, “Crabs in a Barrel”, Earn, Paper Boi and Darius are going on tour in Europe. But for this group of friends nothing is easy: relations between them are tense, Earn comes from ending a relationship with Vanessa and more problems at the airport trying to make the trip happen. Despite the fact that season 3 premiered four years after the end of the second season, the series will focus on the European tour. What will be an immediate continuation of the events of the second season. Some chapters may have isolated stories that do not continue with the continuity of the story, but the plot total will follow after the closing of the second season.
Vanessa with more problems
Vanessa's out of work. That also made the relationship between her and Earn more difficult than it was in itself. Closer to her mother, Lottie (Mia Atehortua) demonstrated superior abilities to children her age and that complicated (for the better) parents. But Al (his real name) was on the verge of death in the second season episode called “Woods”, so he certainly changed his outlook on life even though he tries to prove the opposite. How will this situation impact the new Al, on tour and perhaps, with success pursuing him?
There's no time for romance
Atlanta is one of the most acclaimed fictions of recent years for different reasons. Among them, it does not approach love as something essential for people, but it is necessary in some instances. It's not about romantic love, but real love, about wanting to help the other selflessly. All the characters are suffering from the absence of that love in the series. But one of the hardest moments is the separation of Vanessa and Earn. Very well carried out. And one of the answers that Atlanta will have to answer third or fourth season is: Will they come to reconcile as an attempt at a couple? Will they learn to be good parents even apart?
Season 3 of Atlanta premieres on March 24 on the FX network in the United States but there is still confirmation of when it will arrive in Latin America.
