Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 19 Mar There is no pandemic that can with the Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, “finally darling”, said its new queen, Drag Vulcano, who has put an end to the virus with cannonshots and made full of votes at the most coveted gala of the party. A pandemic came that threatened to end the party and, for two years, it almost succeeded. “End carnival 2022?” , the new Drag Queen of Las Palmas wondered, that's nothing. Vulkano (Isidro Javier Pérez) arrived with a team of dancers dressed in PPE, determined to end the pandemic. His recipe: Vulkigel to stop contagion and a drag that deserved a wave... “No, not another wave,” he joked. Vulkano rose above a planet that was dyed black with the eclipse of a disease, but the new Drag Queen arrived with it light, rhythm and joy, because “if you're sweating, it's not fever, it's Carnival”, he proclaimed from the stage of the Santa Catalia park. His war cry drove the public crazy and his reign opens with an absolute consensus and a 12-point plenum of all the jury tables (press, specialists, guests and public). He accompanies him at the court of queens Drag Shiky, who turned the stage into the set of “Hot Talent”, a peculiar talent show that although it started with opera, quickly moved to rap, reggaeton, to lead candidate four to lose his clothes. With a show full of rhythm and energy, Shiky set out to dance in the park with the great songs of Latin music, in a relentless display of pirouettes, turns and jumps without fear or vertigo. A joker tied, gagged and wearing a straitjacket managed to free himself from his psychiatric prison to dominate the Carnival stage as the second runner-up. Drag Ármex jumped, flew and turned, drawing the applause of thousands of carnivaleros. Color, a waste of sequins and a show that surpassed every second cut the spectators' breath. The third finalist spent a thousand years locked up until his resurrection, and the time came in Santa Catalina Park. Drag Vanderbilt became a Dracula who flew over his team and kept two minutes of dancing relentlessly on his platforms. The props did not skimp on details and, playing a great organ, returned to the scene to leave the entire park stunned. The Carnival Drag Queen received the tape and the sceptre of an eminence of the party, who managed to open a debate necessary for the show and the drag that has warmed the throne the longest. Drag Sethlas has dismissed his reign with a show that, like every year he takes the stage, has lived up to the party, its name and above all, its audience. The winner of 2020 has given way to the new queen, after meeting the most demanding challenge, keeping Carnival alive in the face of the pandemic. CHIEF Laura Bautista
