The violence in Zacatecas, generated by the rivalry between two drug cartels seeking to seize the state for the benefit of their illicit businesses, continues to leave innocent victims, despite the fact that in recent days 65 vehicles and around 500 arrived in the state elements of the Mexican Army.
During the night of March 17, Fresnillo recorded three attacks in different parts of the city, which resulted in four murders: two minors, their mother and a fourth person still unidentified.
The first report was recorded around 9:30 p.m., when a call to the emergency number (911) alerted two people with gunshot wounds on Vendaval Street, located in the Polvaredas neighborhood. One of them was identified as a minor.
The authorities and emergency units immediately moved to the scene. Paramedics who helped the injured confirmed that only one 53-year-old man had gunshot wounds, so he had to be taken by ambulance to a hospital for medical attention.

Almost simultaneously, the second attack took place in the Felipe Ángeles neighborhood, just behind the Santa Cruz Pantheon, where elements of the Municipal, State Preventive and Metropolitan Police went to respond to an emergency call.
Upon arriving at the home referred to, on Felipe Ángeles Street in the colony of the same name, the uniformed and paramedics confirmed that there were two minors, aged 15 and 10, as well as a woman, 35 years old, with gunshot wounds.
It was later confirmed that none of the victims had vital signs, so they began the procedures for the transfer of the bodies, in addition to the relevant investigations to identify those responsible for the murder and the reasons.
A third murder occurred in the downtown area of Fresnillo, specifically on Justo Sierra Street. According to the first reports, a man, approximately 40 years old, was attacked by gunmen who shot him on several occasions until he left him dead and lying on public roads.
These four executions are in addition to the seven recorded last Wednesday, March 16, in Rubén Darío Street, in the González Ortega neighborhood, fourth section. According to the State Prosecutor's Office, there were seven, not six, people killed inside a home in the capital of the entity: six men and one woman.

The police officers who came as first responders to the property did not verify until after 20:00 hours the existence of the woman who was also the victim of the assault, the prosecution said in a statement.
Likewise, the agency explained that the bodies “were tied hand and foot” and that once the prosecution was completed, they were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service for the necropsy of law, which ended on Thursday morning.
“All the victims died as a result of gunshot wounds and so far remain as Unidentified, expert studies and individualization data on each of the bodies are being processed for the purpose of early identification,” the bulletin detailed.
Security sources revealed that it was not an attack lasting a few seconds, but rather several minutes, because according to the testimonies of the neighbors, a van with armed men was more than half now outside the building where the massacre occurred.
