“Perfect Liars” and “The Boulevard”: two Wattpad hits that will be series and movies

Wattpad Webtoon Studios, a global publishing and entertainment sector designed for fans of comics and online novels, has announced that it will apply two popular stories written in Spanish for Wattpad: “The Perfect Liar” and “Boulevard.”

The phenomenon of Alex Mírez, a young author of “The Perfect Liar” with 150 million readers, will be applied as a series, and “The Boulevard”, read by writer Flor M. Salvador, will be a feature film.

This is the first Spanish project funded by the Wattpad Webtoon Studios Development Fund, specially created to finance and promote the project based on the content distributed by these two online reading platforms.

This new project joins the growing proposal of a company that is currently developing and producing more than 100 film and television projects around the world, and is an important step in the production of content in Spanish for the Wattpad Webtoon studio.

Alex Mirez (Caracas, 1994) is one of the stars of online fiction. He published his first novel “Choking” in 2016 with Spanish publisher Nova Casa, and later published two parts of “The Perfect Liar,” which recorded more than 80 million readings on Wattpad. So far, he has written 11 novels between real and digital, and the most recent “Strange” has been published weekly in several installments for more than a year, and finally in June 2021 It was edited in its current format.

His youth drama “Perfect Liars” was produced in Mexico and was adapted as a series by José Miguel Núñez with screenwriters Anna Grazales and Paola Mazlum.

Núñez worked as a main screenwriter in the Netflix original series “Rebel” and the series “Pinches Mumias” (Univision), later participated in the project and is a co-producer and editor-in-chief.

Her writing credits also include “La Reina del Sur” (Telemundo) and “El Bato” (NBC Universo), among others. Grajales & Mazlum credits include Cinema 226 and the upcoming release of the feature film “None of this was a mistake” produced by Cinema 226 and Videocine.

Grazales & Mazlum produces 10 series for Netflix and develops feature film programs for Oscar-winning companies such as Pablo Lalain, Fabula, Warner Media and Sony.

“Perfect Liars” is part of a series of three books published by the Penguin Random House in Spain, two of which have been released so far, and they have been released so far.

“Boulevard” is a four-part novel by Flor M. Salvador by Mexican writer Watpad, which will be adapted by Javier Ruescas, bestselling author of the children's book, and a development series based on Atresmedia Cine's upcoming feature film “Somos Fuego” and the biography of the violinist. “Boulevard”, turned into a movie, is produced in Spain.
