In less than two weeks, the Colombian national team will play the last matches of the South American Qualifiers to Qatar 2022. Reinaldo Rueda will announce this Wednesday who will make up the team that will fight to go to the repechage and keep alive the dream of going to a World Cup for the third time in a row. For this double date, the title of Radamel Falcao García is again in doubt after the absence on the court after suffering a severe injury.

This Sunday, against Sevilla, Andoni Iraola, coach of Rayo Vallecano, had two very important casualties due to sanction, those of his two starting wingers, Isi Palazón and Álvaro García. In addition, the absence of the experienced Radamel Falcao who was replaced by Sergi Guardiola.

Regarding the injury of the Colombian, at the time, Andoni Iraola confirmed on Radio Marca de España the seriousness of the injury and gave good news regarding the return of the 'tiger' to the courts, “Falcao is injured in the area of the twin, for Sevilla this Sunday, March 13 it is difficult for him to arrive. We are going to trust that he can be against Atlético.”

This news was also listened carefully by Reinaldo Rueda in view of the assembly of the list of players called up for the South American Qualifying matches against Bolivia and Venezuela. These will be on March 25th and 29th.

On the other hand, according to journalist Carlos Antonio Vélez, the list of those called up by the vallecaucano coach will have no news and the players who were in the matches against Peru and Argentina would remain. “Tomorrow call. There won't be many surprises... the same, hopefully not with the same ones. Reinaldo will call those who got us and got him into trouble.”

In addition, he explained that the Colombian striker of Rayo Vallecano would not be in Rueda's call due to the physical problems that have kept him outside the Spanish league in recent weeks.

This absence would be added to that of James Rodriguez, since the '10′ of the national team has not had a great performance in the Qatari league, in addition, in the last match of Al-Rayyan, which was against Al-Shamal, James did not play. On the other hand, he has been losing prominence within the team despite having scored some goals, and his absence has been something almost constant.

It should be noted that the national team is ranked number 7 in the standings of the South American Qualifiers for Qatar 2022 with 17 points and three goals against. Now, in this position and with these units, mathematically, Colombia has one foot in and one foot out, since it has a chance to go to the World Cup, but it depends on the results of Uruguay and Peru.

Assuming that the national team scores all three points in these two matches, it needs Peru to draw or lose to Uruguay in Montevideo and Paraguay in Lima. That is to aspire to a repechage that will be played in June. And, if the 'tricolor' is in the fifth box, the World Cup draw will be held until next April 1. But it must be clear that only a miracle will have Reinaldo Rueda's team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
