Armando Linares López, director of local media monitor Michoacán, was killed in an armed attack while at home in Zita Cuaro on Tuesday afternoon, March 15.

As a result of this fact, until 2022, Mexico has recorded the death of eight journalists. For this reason, various users of social networks have responded and expressed dissatisfaction with the daily violence of the media, even at the National Palace.

Journalist Carlos Loret de Mola joined the message of the regiment and described the murder of Linares as a “tragedy”. In addition, he assured that Mexico is currently the most dangerous territory to practice journalism, even if it is not officially a war territory.

“In 2022, eight journalists have died so far. Mexico, the most dangerous country to practice journalism outside the official war zone. Tragedy. The call for solidarity and justice for each death,” wrote a fellow driver.

Social media users immediately responded to Loret de Mola and claimed that they were “benefiting” from the murder of Armando Linares. They also pointed out that he was “Lord Montajes” due to various controversies surrounding his journalistic practices.

However, another sector related to communicators said that despite the seriousness of the situation, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) will not listen to him. His speech wrote: “Of the 90 murders per day, only one person today was a journalist.” @aracelibs

“At least pretend that you don't like it; it didn't take long to get a profit”; “And if SegoB himself gets this number, where did they get that number? The same trend indicating that amlo's six-year term will be the worst”; “I think what he will say is doing well because the government has already stabilized the number of murders of journalists in a month.”

The Federal President is expected to make a statement regarding this new assassination at a press conference on the morning of March 16.

The Office of the Attorney General of the State (FGE) of Michoacán indicates that an employee of the department has moved to the Carabanchel area where the victim's private home is located and where the incident occurred and carried out the corresponding action.

Linares corpses were also reported to have been shot wounded, so a protocol of approval for the investigation of crimes against freedom of expression was activated.

Armando Linares, after announcing the murder of his colleague Roberto Toledo (Roberto Toledo), confessed that he was afraid of his life three days ago: the death of Toledo, threats to the environment, threats to collaborators and himself increased.

“I have to say this. I'm afraid of life. Of course, I will apply for federal protection on this issue, and a corresponding complaint will be filed.” Linares said last January.

During that time, he noted that there was already a reconciliation with the federal government to participate in the investigation. He also stressed that the authorities already have full knowledge of this topic.

He even pointed out that investigations began on social media profiles that announced the threat of “where they are seriously selected from illegal activities” because they said they linked the media to criminal groups.
